93 flat owners received on Thursday, July 27, keys to their new apartments built by the Chisinau Municipal Mortgage Agency “AMIC”. Those two new apartment blocks were erected on Cetatea Alba Street, 141, thus the number of the blocks constructed by AMIC amounted to 17, since 1999. AMIC director, Petru Pripa told reporters that the beneficiaries have paid at the beginning of the construction half of the apartments’ price, the rest following to be paid during 10 years. The buildings contain studio, 2 and 3-room flats, with surfaces of 50, 70, and respectively 94 square meters. “People demand small, modest but cozy apartments,” Pripa thinks. Though the blocks were erected having as frames unfinalized buildings, Pripa says that the apartments were redesigned, and suffered essential modifications, these being provided with modern facilities: individual heating systems, Plexiglas windows, thermo-isolation for external walls, thus the increase in price of natural gas won’t be a big problem. Due to the fact that the building works started in 2004, the price per square meter was established back then, at USD 290 and 330. According to Pripa, this year AMIC intends to give keys to 2 apartment blocks, with 120 flats each, on Doga Street and 3 more blocks with 136 apartments on Mircea cel Batran Blvd. AMIC director states that the demand for flats exceeds the offer, which the agency is not able to fully fulfill because of insufficient plots for construction. Pripa thinks that the prices for the future apartments would be of about USD 500 per square meter. Although the prices might go up due to continuous increases in price of metal, sand, concrete etc. At the same time AMIC offers the lowest prices, by 20-25%, in comparison with other building companies, and the 10 year term of payment makes AMIC offer very attractive.
