Municipal housing sector is ready for heating season
About 93% of the apartment blocks managed by the municipal enterprises administering the housing sector are ready for the cold season.
At Chisinau City Hall’s meeting on October 1, Petru Gontea, interim head of the General Hosing-Communal Division, said that only 100 blocks of flats run by the municipal enterprises administering the housing sector have not received yet passports for the supply of heat owing to technical problems.
The apartment buildings administered by the Associations of Privatized Dwelling Owners, the House Building Cooperatives or departmental houses did not submit the necessary documents for obtaining technical passports to the heat-supplier Termocom SA, though most of them are ready for the heating season, Gontea said.
According to the cited source, last week the City Hall purchased building materials to repair 10,000 square metres of roof. The materials were distributed to the district head’s offices and to the enterprise that administer the housing sector.
Representative of Termocom SA Mihai Arusoi said the company would supply heat only to the social facilities and the apartment blocks that have technical passports.
Tatiana Nagnibeda, head of the General Division of Education, Youth and Sports, said that the largest part of the preschool and preuniversity education institutions in the municipality of Chisinau are ready for the cold season as all the planned works have been completed.
On the other hand, Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca said he learned while talking to people that the cold season is a source of major concern for them. “Either things are not as good as reported, or we didn’t manage to convey properly our message to the people and assure them that they have nothing to fear”, the mayor concluded.
