The session of the Municipal Council of Chisinau, scheduled for Thursday, January 18, has been postponed 3 hours before its beginning. The issues to be discussed in the sessions are the new prices for heat and water supply, as well as the results of the investment contest for the alienation of the municipal stations “Antena C” and “Euro TV Chisinau”, Info-Prim Neo reports. CMC interim secretary Nicolae Manastarli told Info-Prim Neo he wasn’t aware of the reasons for the postponement, but referred to a decision of the interim mayor Vasile Ursu, who is empowered to summon or cancel a CMC session. Christian democrat councillor Eugenia Starcea stated that the PPCD faction did not participate in making the respective decision and that she was informed about the fact that the session would not take place the same morning. ,Serghei Novic, councillor representing the communist faction, told Info-Prim Neo that the session of CMC has been annulled for the reason that the items included in the agenda “haven’t been well prepared”. Novic said that the decision of cancelling the session belongs to the communist faction, which was summoned this morning in order to discuss upon the agenda of the following session. The members of the communist faction decided to postpone the session, because “there’s no sense” to debate upon “unprepared issues”. He promised that the session will take place in the shortest time possible, maybe even on next Tuesday. Leader of the Social Action Bloc (BAS) Mihai Roscovan was puzzled by the fact that the communist faction decided to annul the session without having this legal right. He says he has doubts about the reason set forth by the communist faction, and claims that the decision on cancellation could be motivated by a discussion he had today at 10:00 with the communist faction, which negotiated for the session to be chaired by the communist councillor Grigore Mara. Roscovan refused to accept the proposal, stating that this session, according to the graph, is to have as chairman a councillor representing BAS. At 11:00, Roscovan was informed that the session had been cancelled. The Chisinau City Hall Public Relations Department, responsible of mass-media relations, has informed Info-Prim Neo neither about the announcement of the session nor about its cancelling.
