Municipal councilors do not want to leave commission for construction, architecture and financial resources

Two muncipla councilors complained that their rights were violated as they were transfered to other specialized commisions of the Chisinau Muncipla Council (CMC). Councilor on behalf of the Party “Our Home Moldova” Oleg Onishchenko, the former chairman of the commission for construction, architecture and financial resources, said that he will sue the City Hall, which drafted the decision regarding the reformation of the municipal commissions, Info-Prim Neo reports. After the CMC secretary Velriu Didenco read the draft decision on reshuffling, Onishchenko said that under the law every councilor has the right to choose the commission in which to work. “This decision is a first step showing that the situation in Chisinau gets out of control. I will be the one to show you what democracy is. I will recommend the civil society to monitor the work of this commission and to catch you planning schemes,” he said, asking that he remain at least a member of the given commission. For his part, Valery Klimenko, who is also not a member of the commission for construction, architecture and financial resources anymore, said that he has been the only 'filter' in this commission during over two years. He described the reshuffling decision as attack on the ethnic minorities living in Chisinau. “When they were sent from office to office and their problems were not solved, the ethnics asked me to solve them. Today, they were deprived of such a possibility,” he said. Valeriu Didenco read the legal norms about the constitution of the municipal commissions, which say that the members of the commissions are proposed by the CMC factions, while in the case of independent councilors the decision is made by the Council. The councilor of the Moldova Noastra Alliance Oleg Cernei said that he does not understand why Onishchenko and Klimenko want so much to be part of the commission from which they were excluded given that the specialized commissions make only recommendations. “The reactions of the two councilors show that they pursue certain goals. The commission must be competent and work in maximally transparent conditions,” he said. The reshuffling decision was passed by a majority vote.
