Municipal councillor Mihai Roscovan set to run for mayor

On Thursday, May 3, municipal councillor Mihai Roscovan submitted the documents to the Chisinau District Election Council as independent candidate for the position of mayor general of Chisinau municipality. According to a press release, Roscovan has presented the subscription lists including over 13,000 supporters in his favour. After the registration, Mihai Roscovan will launch his election campaign and will make public his projects for Chisinau. Mihai Roscovan is 49 years old, is a doctor of economics and runs the Institute of Research Management and Consultancy. In 1998-1999, he held the office of deputy minister of Economy and Reforms. He is an unaffiliated municipal councillor and co-president of the “Social Action” Bloc in the Chisinau Municipal Council. Mihai Roscovan is one of the authors of the Chisinau General Urban Plan, recently approved by the Chisinau Municipal Council. On the same day, another municipal councillor, Ion Mamaliga, submitted his files requesting to be registered as independent candidate for the Chisinau Municipal Council. Thursday, May 3, was the final day for applying for the position of mayor general in the June 3 general local elections.
