Members of the Association “Municipal Council 90” called on the people to vote in the November 13 runoff elections and to bring to an end the actions to divide society initiated by politicians, who want only to steal and to deprive the people of the right to a decent life. In a news conference at IPN, these said the citizens of Moldova deserve a President who would represent them with dignity everywhere in the world and Maia Sandu can be such a candidate.
“Let’s overcome the state of disappointment, division and confusion to which the old political class brought us. Together we are a big force that can remove the thieves, bandits and corrupt persons from power. Together we can bring things in our common house in order. To begin with, we must choose an honest, upright and qualified person as President,” the Association says in a statement that was read at the news conference. The people are urged to vote for an open, democratic and corruption-free society, for a European future for their children and grandchildren – for Maia Sandu.
Association member Constantin Pasecinic said that history repeats. As in 1989, two poles appeared in society. The polarization of society was always wanted and the climax was reached now as two candidates with diametrically opposed views compete for the office of President. One of them represents the interests of the native people, while the other one drives the people out of their senses.
Member Mihai Roscovan said that until now Moldova hasn’t had an educated, honest and upright President who could stop the stealing of public money. “Maia Sandu, who is an economist by profession, knows very well the country’s problems. Only she, who is an upright and courageous candidate, can hamper the involvement of the oligarchs in politics and the state institutions,” he stated.
Ex-Chisinau councilor Iulia Zaplitnyi said the people have waited long for a person like Maia Sandu to hold office of President. This is a woman with lucid thought and a will of iron.
Gheorghe Suruceanu, another member of “Municipal Council 90”, said the people have access to a large volume of information and are well informed and can thus make a correct choice on November 13, in favor of a candidate who represents Moldovans. They must choose a cultured, skillful and honest person who can represent with dignity the Moldovan people everywhere in the world.
Association member Igor Tarlapan said the people of Moldova are witnesses to a very dirty election campaign that is full of lies disseminated by candidate Igor Dodon and his supporters. The choice is very clear and the voters know that they have to choose between lie and truth, between love for the nation and betrayal, between Sandu and Dodon.
According to the former Chisinau councilors, the only solution for the Republic of Moldova is for the people to go massively to vote and choose their President.
