Municipal commission to examine how menu is compiled in kindergartens

Parents dissatisfied with the quality of food in the kindergartens of Chisinau filed complaints to the Municipal Health Division. In the February 13 meeting of officials of Chisinau services and divisions, the Division’s head Mihai Moldovanu said the parents insisted on assessing the five food combines responsible for alimentation in the education institutions of the capital city, IPN reports.

Officials of the Education Division said the money allocated to the combines does not enable these to improve the quality of the menu and increasing the financial norm would be a solution. The five combines employ 110 people and the staff is often changed owing to the heavy workload and low salaries. The salaries range from 1,500 lei to 3,000 lei in the case of production chiefs.

Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca instructed to constitute a special commission to see how the menu is compiled and what this consists of on the allotted sum of 10.20 lei/child a day. The commission will also determine the legal status of the combines, which is not yet clear. The problem could be solved easier if the parents take part in taking decisions related to the management of funds.
