The educational institutions in the municipality of Chisinau will be ready for the new school year by August 25, the head of the General Division of Education, Youth and Sports Tatiana Nagnibeda-Tverdohleb announced at Monday’s meeting of the Chisinau City Hall, Info-Prim Neo reports. The last week torrential rain damaged some of the schools. Fortunately, no person was injured, the Division’s head said. A meeting with officials of the General Finance Division is scheduled for August 5. They will consider allocating financial resources for repairing the damaged buildings. Several institutions in the suburbs are in need of repair and will not be repaired by the start of the new school year. Among these are the eatery of the school in Ghidighici, the quoted source said. In another development, Tatiana Nagnibeda-Tverdohleb said that they started to draw up the lists of children from socially-vulnerable families that will receive financial aid. A number of 7,710 children will receive lump-sump payments of 600 lei this year for preparing for the new school year, as against 6,710 children last year. As the summer camp “Ciresarii” in Vadul lui Voda town was not affected by floods, it will resume work on August 8. The children that were resting in “Zambetul” camp, will continue holidaying in the camps that have not been inundated such as “Energeticianul”, “Luceafarul” and “Nistru”.
