The Chisinau City Hall awarded the best teachers and educators in the municipality this year on the occasion of World Teachers’ Day. The winners of the 2021 contest “Pedagogue of the Year” are: professor of the year – Tatiana Țurcan, of “Princess Natalia Dadiani” Theoretical Lyceum, educator of the year – Eugenia Codrean, of Primary School No. 12 “A. Popovici”, and educator of the year – Angela Jomir, of kindergarten No. 52. The laureates of the contest received diplomas of honor and money awards.

Given the pandemic situation, the event involved a limited number of teachers. “The pedagogue often spends more time with children than their parents at home, while the cost of opportunities in life depends on the basis laid for the children at school. We thank you, dear teachers. We are those who we are owing to your efforts,” stated mayor of Chisinau Ion Ceban.

For his part, the deputy head of the General Education, Youth and Sport Division Andrei Pavaloi said that Teachers’ Day is the holiday of teachers and also of those who make the school, kindergarten and out-of-school centers friendlier to children. “We now devote special attention to those who, by their effort and deeds, managed to say a little more about themselves than the others, to do slightly more than the others,” he stated.
