Mumps still a threat
The Chisinau Emergency Service recorded on Monday 68 mumps reports. Doctor-coordinator Eufalia Negreata has told Info-Prim Neo the incidence of mumps is still unusually high, with all the specialized hospital wards being overcrowded.
The same day, an unidentified homeless person was found in the street with convulsive syndrome. The man was admitted to the Emergency Hospital.
Another unidentified man, thought to be about 60, was found with acute alcoholic intoxication and alcoholic coma on Sfatul Tarii Str. He was hospitalized at Sfanta Treime Hospital for detoxification.
An elderly man, 73, collapsed and suffered sudden death near a residential block on Cuza Voda Blvd. Another man, 52, died in the presence of emergency doctors, after experiencing a brain stroke. The man also suffered from hepatic cirrhosis.
On Monday, emergency doctors responded to 821 calls, dealing with 59 cases of trauma, 66 cases of acute viral diseases, 14 childbirths, and 10 brain strokes.
