MTZ tractors might be assembled in Moldova
Moldova could soon assemble MTZ tractors made by the Minsk tractor works, Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Valeriu Cosarciuc has told Info-Prim Neo. The Belorussian partners returned to this idea as they consider there are reliable dialogue partners in Chisinau, the minister said.
Earlier, the proposal to assemble Belorussian tractors formed part of a project to reanimate the tractor factory in Chisinau. This time, the Minsk partners asked identifying a private company so as to avoid bureaucratic barriers.
Valeriu Cosarciuc said that Moldova needs about 500-600 tractors a year, but the capacity of the assembly plant can be increased so as to export tractors to Romania. “We must not forget that Minsk intended to implement a joint project with the Brasov tractor works, but the project failed. Now they regard Chisinau as a suitable place where to implement this project,” the minister said.
Speaking about other subjects discussed at the economic forum of Moldovan and Belorussian businessmen, Valeriu Cosarciuc said the importers in Minsk accepted the proposal to increase the volume of wines bought from Moldova by 500,000 decaliters.
