MPs want to know why presidential limo case is moving so slow
During today’s Parliament sitting, MPs Valentina Stratan and Igor Klipii asked explanations for the reasons why the investigation into the road accident involving a presidential limousine is moving so slow. They also wanted to know why the authorities haven’t yet initiated criminal proceedings against the persons that attempted to get rid of the evidence on the scene.
The MPs asked Interior Minister Gheorghe Papuc for the police report describing the circumstances of the crash, the name of the offender, the punishment to be applied and other relevant information. They also asked explanations about the reasons for eliminating and concealing evidence on the accident, as well as how it is possible that more than a vehicle can use the same registration plates RM 0001.
Taking into account that the author of the accident fled the scene and the evidence was apparently removed from the venue before initiating the legal procedure, the MPs demanded that the Prosecutor General started criminal proceedings into the case.
The Chisinau mass media last week reported that the car of President Vladimir Voronin was involved in an accident on October 17. One person was injured in the accident. According to eyewitnesses, the car crashed into another car, which afterward hit the third car. There were also reports that the guilty driver was under the influence of alcohol.
