As from October 1, the state will provide a monthly benefit of 1,000 lei for looking after children up to their age of two. The benefit will be paid to all the children, either their parents are socially insured or not. On Thursday, the MPs adopted relevant amendments to the state budget law after giving them a final reading, IPN reports.

In the case of socially insured parents, the monthly allowance of 1,000 lei will be paid in addition to the child benefit that is now paid according to one of the three payment variants. In the case of noninsured persons, the monthly benefit of 1,000 lei replaces the current allowance of 740 lei.

Also from October 1, the monthly child benefit paid to twins or more children born at once up to their age of three will be 500 lei, up from 370 lei at present.
