MPs Ulanov and Jardan investigated outside custody

Shor Party MPs Denis Ulanov and Petru Jardan will not be remanded in custody. The Chisinau Appeals Court rejected anticorruption prosecutors’ appeals against the decisions taken by the Ciocana branch of the Chisinau City Court by which the two were placed under judicial control, IPN reports.

The Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office asked that the two MPs should be remanded in custody for 30 days, but the requests of March 25 and April 5 were rejected.

Denis Ulanov is accused of swindle and money laundering in the “bank fraud” case, while Petru Jardan is accused of abuse of power in the concession of the Chisinau International Airport.

They both plead not guilty.
