MPs say why Ion Chicu is not afraid of no confidence motion

When assessing the chances of the motion of censure against the Chicu Government being carried by Parliament, the interests of “the Dodon-Shor coalition” should be taken into account, MP of the Party of Action and Solidarity Oazu Nantoi stated in the talk show “Expertise Hour” on Jurnal TV channel. “I think we should not hurry and formulate scenarios. We must see who will come to the sitting and how it will be voted first. Then, we will have what to comment on,” IPN quoted the MP as saying.

MP of the Shor Party Marina Tauber said the party she represents has serious objections to the Chicu Government and to the country’s administration in general. “We continue to plead for snap elections. The decision concerning our presence and vote on the censure motion will be taken tomorrow evening (December 22, e.n.), following discussions with the party’s president Ilan Shor and the whole parliamentary platform “For Moldova,” stated the MP.

Igor Munteanu, MP of the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform”, said they cannot be sure that the motion of no confidence will be adopted, but are sure that the Chicu Government should leave. “The people are dissatisfied with the achievements of this Cabinet that served President Dodon and brought the farmers, the health sector to their knees and did nothing to support the business community during the pandemic,” he explained.

On December 23, Parliament will come together for an extraordinary sitting at 3pm to debate the motion of censure against the Chicu Government that was tabled on December 16.
