New footage of last year’s meeting of Igor Dodon and the then leader of the Democratic Party Vlad Plahotniuc and also Plahotniuc’s right hand Sergey Yaralov were made public by MPs Iurie Reniță and Lilian Carp. The MPs demand that the prosecutors should examine the videos and see if there is enough evidence to hold the President accountable for treason. In the footage, Igor Dodon says he permanently writes notes to the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, IPN reports.
PPPDA MP Iurie Reniță, together with PAS MP Lilian Carp, said they will make an official request to Prosecutor General Alexandr Stoianoglo to determine the authenticity of these videos and to connect them to the other footage that was made public earlier and that also feature the three. Iurie Reniță noted that he received the videos through mail, as the previous footage, but later.
For his part, Lilian Carp said the videos were transmitted to the Prosecutor General’s Office and assured that these are genuine. “A President reports on the political situation in the Republic of Moldova. In such conditions, the Prosecutor’s Office and the Security and Intelligence Service are obliged to examine the case and determine if Igor Dodon poses a danger to the state or not,” he stated.
In the middle of May, Iurie Reniță published a video with the same protagonists. In this, Vladimir Plahotniuc hands over a black bag to President Igor Dodon. The latter said then that the video was made-up. On May 25, the PGO announced that it took legal action to investigate the circumstances in which that video was made. The criminal case was started based on denouncements made by the PPPDA leader Andrei Năstase and MP Iurie Reniță.
