The moratorium on ideological and geopolitical subjects announced by President Igor Dodon is beneficial and shows a particular level of political maturity. This will contribute to the concentration of the parties from the parliamentary majority on the country’s development and will prevent the division of society. The issue was developed in a talk show on Vocea Basarabiei TV channel, IPN reports.
ACUM MP Vladimir Bolea said the idea of such a moratorium proposed by President Dodon is very good. The PSRM and the Bloc ACUM formed a coalition because they both reasonably assessed the problems faced by Moldova. The lack of the rule of law is one of these problems. “This moratorium is another, I think more mature step that shows the political maturity that was absent in the Republic of Moldova until now. Do you remember how a party came to power and won a majority and all the mayors defected to that party,” he stated, noting the moratorium will bring value added and maturity and everyone makes effort to take real steps to change the political situation.
Socialist MP Adrian Lebedinski said that when signing the cooperation agreement with ACUM, the Party of Socialists made a lot of concessions. The Sandu Government includes only one minister who represents the PSRM even if their party won more seats of MP and was to have more ministers. “We are different and have absolutely different visions, including geopolitical ones. The moratorium was proposed in a move to maintain the alliance so as to develop the state. We should reach the stage when the people will live better and will then discuss the views of the left and of the right,” stated the MP.
According to him, the subjects on which the PSRM and ACUM have differing views will be avoided at the current stage and they will work only on issues of common interest related to the country’s development.
On June 17, President Igor Dodon said that for the new government to strengthen itself and to resist, it is important to impose a temporary moratorium on ideological and geopolitical subjects that divide society.
