The lawmakers decided to donate their one-workday salary to the persons affected by floods in Moldova, Info-Prim Neo reports. The proposal was made at the start of the July 8 sitting of the Parliament by Liberal MP Valeriu Munteanu and was accepted by all the MPs attending. “I propose transferring the premiums of the Communist MPs who did not attend the sittings to the accounts opened for flood victims,” said Acting President Mihai Ghimpu. Liberal-Democrat MP Veaceslav Ionita stressed the Communists' premiums can be transferred only under a bill with amendments to the state budget law. The commission for economy, budget and finance headed by Ionita will convene at 9.30 tomorrow to discuss the bill. It will be then put to the vote in Parliament the same day. The lawmakers receive by 70 lei a day in premium for attending the meetings of the standing commissions.
