Deputy Speaker of Parliament Monica Babuc, Democratic MP, in a news conference said that despite the prescriptions of doctors and of the legislature’s administration, the MPs are urged to come to Parliament and to this way give bad examples to the citizens as regards the observance of the measures to prevent infection with COVID-19, IPN reports.
According to Monica Babuc, the situation witnessed today in Parliament is exactly the opposite to that witnessed two weeks ago, when the PDM was accused of delaying the announcement of the infection of one of their mates.
The MP denied any speculations about the PDM’s nonparticipation in the work of Parliament. She said the PDM will vote the law on noncommercial organizations in the second reading and will this way contribute to meeting the conditions for obtaining €30 million in macro-financial assistance from the EU. The discussions with European officials made it clear that the adoption of the overdue measures next week will not influence the provision or non-provision of this financial support.
In another development, Monica Babuc said the Democratic parliamentary group asks the Government to deviate from the regulations on the National State Award that is provided annually on the Independence Day and to decide in favor of giving this award to representatives of the healthcare and education systems. “This will be our thanks to all those who risk their lives for the lives of everyone to be better and safer,” she stated.
