MPs about no-confidence motion against Filip Government

The no-confidence motion against the Filip Government could have been passed, considers Socialist MP Adrian Lebedinschi. At the same time, MPs of the government coalition believe the motion had no chance and is not justified. Contradictory statements on the issue were made in the talk show “Fabrika” on Publika TV channel, IPN reports.

Unaffiliated MP Anatolie Zagoroniuc said he had no reasons to vote for the Government’s dismissal. “We didn’t see reasons to vote for the no-confidence motion. This Government in half a year managed to ensure stability and to launch reforms,” stated the ex-Communist MP.

Democratic MP Eugeniu Nichiforciuc said that by the no-confidence motion the Socialists aimed to gain electoral benefits. “We didn’t vote not for the simple reason that we support the Filip Government. The merits of this Government are recognized by the international community too. It obtained stability and a good reformation pace. When the economic crisis was in full swing, it managed to decrease prices and to raise salaries,” he stated.

Liberal MP Roman Botan criticized the Socialists’ attempt to dismiss the Government. “We witnessed a bad show. Dodon considers he can become President overnight. The presidential elections are coming and the Socialists’ message for the voters is that the Filip Government does nothing,” he said.

Adrian Lebedinschii noted he possesses evidence that implicates Pavel Filip and if he had managed to present it in Parliament, more MPs would have voted for the no-confidence motion.

Parliament on July 27 rejected the no-confidence motion submitted to the Filip Government. Thirty Socialist, Liberal-Democratic and Communist MPs voted in favor at a time when 51 votes were needed for the motion to be adopted.
