A legislative proposal to fund after-school classes in every school in the country and personal assistants in every locality was registered by MP Gaik Vartanean on behalf of the MAN party. This was announced by MAN president Ion Ceban.
“Every citizen of Moldova, every family should have the opportunity to send their child to an extended day care group, regardless of where they live. Personal assistants are also needed in every town and village in the country. Therefore, these two services must be covered from the state budget throughout the country”, declared Ceban.
Another registered proposal concerns the financing of the Chisinau municipality budget. Ion Ceban, who is also the mayor of Chisinau, says that currently of the 23 billion lei that Chisinau transfers to the central authorities, only 13% (2.8 billion) return to the municipal budget, plus transfers with special purpose. In his opinion, the current situation is discriminatory for Chisinau residents.
“In recent years there is a clear tendency for the central authorities to delegate responsibilities to the local authorities, without providing them with proper funding”, said Ceban.
