MP suggests Moldovans studying abroad should have health insurance at home too

Democrat MP Valentina Stratan has proposed a bill to enable students studying abroad to have a state health insurance for their period of stay at home, Info-Prim Neo reports. Valentina Stratan said the bill was developed based on numerous requests from parents of youths studying abroad who come home during breaks and sometimes complain about health issues or simply want to undergo medical checks to prevent some chronic illnesses. Without an insurance, they are forced to pay when seeking medical attention. The proposal, notes the author, is in line with efforts to support the youth, stimulating their return home after graduation, and their involvement in our country's economic development. The number of students who study abroad varies from year to year. Rough estimations indicate an annual number of 3,000-3,500 young people.
