MP Alexandr Slusari, vice president of the Truth and Dignity Platform Party (DA) has formally requested the President’s Office to provide information on the "merits of the citizen Mihail Aizin", who received the Medal for Distinguished Labur. Additionally, the MP asked who put forward Aizin's candidacy.
"I am very curious why Mihail Aizin was decorated for Distinguished Labor. In this context, I officially requested information from the Presidency. I draw the attention of the public and, in particular, of local producers, that this gentleman, beyond his “distinguished” past, is also the owner of the Fidesco supermarket chain. It is probably no coincidence that, for more than 6 months now, the parliamentary committee for economy, budget and finance has blocked the bill which requires that store shelves must display at least 50% of local agri-food products", Alexandr Slusari was quoted as saying in a DA press release.
According to anticoruptie.md, police records showed that Mihail Aizin was the leader of an organized criminal group, known as the "Jewish group", during the 1990s.
