MP Recean to visit Brussels April 20-21

Prime Minister Dorin Recean will go to Brussels in the afternoon of April 20 and on April 21 will have meetings with a number of European officials, the spokesman for the Cabinet Daniel Vodă announced in a news conference.

The official will meet with the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell, EU Commissioner for Economy Paolo Gentiloni, EU Commissioner for Justice Didier Reynders.

In the discussions with the European officials, Premier Recean will speak about the Moldovan Government’s priorities, such as ensuring of peace and security in the region and for the Republic of Moldova, improvement of the state of the population, the reform agenda, including in the justice sector, economic strengthening, including in the energy sector and trade, and the closer cooperation with the EU in the field of foreign policy and security.

On his visit to Brussels, Dorin Recean will be accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister Nicu Popescu, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration.

The visit to Brussels is the second visit abroad that is to be made by the Premier, after the first visit paid to Bucharest in March.
