PAS MP Radu Marian said that public parliamentary hearings on the situation in the energy sector will be held next week. It happens after Moldovagaz asked for a 40% increase in the natural gas charge, IPN reports.

"Of course, we are waiting for the NAER’s decision, but this announcement of the company, rightly, arouses dissatisfaction and bewilderment among many citizens, especially considering that some of the officials from the field made optimistic statements about the energy situation a few months ago," said Radu Marian.

According to the MP, the hearings are aimed at clarifying the reasons that led to this request for an unexpected increase and to identify solutions to reduce, in the future, the risk of sudden adjustments of charges. The exact date of the parliamentary hearings will be announced after the National Agency for Energy Regulation makes public its decision.
