MP Mihai Godea demands recalling Ambassador Andrei Neguta
The chairman of the Democratic Action Party (PAD) Mihai Godea requested the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration to recall Moldova’s Ambassador to Russia Andrei Neguta in connection with his statements about the Transnistrian region and the withdrawal of the military troops, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“By his attempts to justify the Russian military presence on the sovereign and independent territory of Moldova, Andrei Neguta reduces the effect of the diplomatic efforts made during the last 20 years, shows that he flouts the international law, ignores the principles of the government program and violates the international resolutions,” Mihai Godea said in a press briefing.
The unaffiliated MP stressed that the ambassador openly deviates from the official and legitimate position on the pullout of the foreign troops. This way, the Moldovan diplomats attacks the sovereignty and independence of the country. “The Foreign Ministry’s reaction shows irresponsibility as the institution only made a press statement, describing the actions of Neguta as regrettable,” he stated.
Earlier this week, Andrei Neguta said in an interview that the withdrawal of the Russian troops from the Transnistrian region before term would endanger Moldova and the whole region.
