Democratic MP Eugeniu Nikiforchuk and his wife got COVID-19, his colleague Dumitru Diacov informed. Diacov said he was phoned by the MP during the break in the Parliament’s sitting and was told about this, IPN reports.

Dumitru Diacov said Eugeniu Nikiforchuk did a test yesterday and the infection was confirmed today. The MP is asymptomatic. Diacov voiced hope that none of the other colleagues contracted the virus at the last meeting of their parliamentary group that also involved five ministers.

Parliament Speaker Zinaida Grechanyi proposed testing all the MPs and the employees of the legislative body for COVID-19 at the lab of the National Public Health Agency. The MPs will pay for the test themselves.

According to the director of the National Public Health Agency Nicolae Furtună, the test for COVID-19 should be better done this weekend, by mandatorily obeying the conditions for taking samples.
