MP asked law-enforcers to check legality of lending $2 M for new Communists Party's quarters

MP Vitalia Pavlicenco, the leader of the National Liberal Party, has asked the General Prosecutor and the Anti-corruption Center (ECCCC) to check up the legality of Banca de Economii (BE) lending $2 million to build the new quarters of the Communists Party (PCRM), Info-Prim Neo reports. The parliamentarian made this interpellation on the Parliament's floor and grounds it on several investigation articles in media. “As the state is the owner of this bank with a stake of 60%, I request to check the legality of the decision of the bank's board to lend the loan, to investigate whether the bank has analyzed the PCRM's solvency, which is the interest and the pawn for this loan,” Vitalia Pavlicenco stated. She asks the law enforcement bodies to investigate whether the money was spent and how. Pavlicenco also wonders who is the owner of the future quarters of the PCRM, who is the direct beneficiary of the loan. “We have information that this money was formally granted for the quarters, but actually it will be used for the electoral campaign”, Vitalia Pavlicenco also asked to check this supposition. The politician mentioned, she had learnt after making an interpellation that the total cost of a chandelier in the presidential palace was 4.38 million lei and it was bought from a local company selected after an tender. Pavlicenco has asked the law-enforcing bodies to check the legality of the tender and of the transaction since “it's worth the amount of pensions for a month.” The parliamentarian wonders whether “this money has been laundered to be put into the electoral piggy bag”. The interpellated law enforcing bodies have two weeks to draft an answer.
