MP about CC decisions: I’m convinced that there was no political influence

MPs Vladimir Bolea, Octavian Țîcu and Ludmila Guzun said they fully support the decisions taken by Moldova’s Constitutional Court recently. Moreover, the three MPs who represent different parties are hopeful that the current composition of the High Court will do what it should do till the end, IPN reports.

“Major changes already occur at the Court. The Court imposes its authority. After a very long period of time, the Court passed one of the first judgments by which it defied the executive and legislative powers and imposed itself as a free and independent alternative,” unaffiliated MP Octavian Țîcu stated in the talk show “Ghetsu Asks” on TV8 channel.

MP of the Action and Solidarity Party Vladimir Bolea said that by the taken decisions, the CC chose to avoid the ridiculous situations it experienced when the Democratic Party was in power.

”The CC had to choose between doing what it did or to becoming ridiculous as during the rule of Mister Plahotniuc. Remember that then the Constitutional Court was a nobody due to the way in which it repealed, voted and amended laws. We were all surprised by the current developments. I’m firmly convinced that there was no political influence. It was just the judges’ decision to state their opinion. I hope they will correctly analyze laws in the Republic of Moldova till the end,” stated the MP.

Democratic MP Ludmila Guzun said she would like the Constitutional Court to become that body that will not allow interference in its work.
