Mountains remain preferred destination of Moldovans for winter holidays

The mountain resorts continue to be the preferred destination of the Moldovans for the winter vacation. Romania and Bulgaria remain the most popular destinations.

Contacted by IPN, chairman of the National Association of Travel Agencies Alexandru Juraveli said the Moldovans who will want to celebrate New Year’s Eve and Christmas in the Romanian mountains will pay minimum €150 for a five-night stay, including accommodation, transport and breakfast. A similar trip to Bulgaria will cost about €240. The price includes transport, breakfast, dinner and accommodation in a four-star hotel.

The Ukrainian mountains are not in great demand owing to the exaggerated prices. A five-day stay in the mountain resort Bukovel costs minimum €250 only for accommodation, without meals and transport.

Given that the operators provide flights to such exotic destinations as Sri Lanka, Dubai and Maldives, the Moldovans profit from the relevant offers. The price for a five-day winter vacation in Sri Lanka is minimum €1,000, in Dubai – US$1,000, while in Maldives – about €1,500 per person.
