Motorists required to use low-beam headlights during daylight hours starting today

Starting today and until March 31, motorists are required to drive with their headlights on in the the low beam mode during daylight hours to increase their vehicles' noticeability, Info-Prim Neo reports. Chisinau police chief Silviu Musuc said last year over 1,500 tickets were issued for the failure to comply with the requirement. The fines for such a contravention range from 100 to 200 lei. Musuc said motorists should also make preparations in advance to shift to winter tires from December 1. The failure to comply with this requirement carries fines of the same size.
