A driver of a car injured a pedestrian, on Monday in the afternoon, in the center of the capital, and managed to leave the place of the accident without being identified. According to the inspector of the Traffic Circulation, Administrative Surveillance and Public Relations Service of Chisinau Road Police, Ion Roşcovanu, the accident happened at 13:30, in front of the capital mayoralty. A man aged 49, crossing the boulevard on the crossing, was hit by a car, unidentified at the moment, its driver disappearing from the place of the accident. The victim suffered a fracture of the leg’s bones and a knee concussion. It is to be mentioned that at this crossing a policeman is almost always on duty. On Costiujeni Street of Codru town an accident happened between the cars Mercedes-124 with Ocnita plates and Volkswagen-Transporter with Ialoveni plates. As result of the accident, the passenger aged 30 of the Volkswagen-Transporter car suffered a brain shock. A young girl aged 25 was hospitalized with serious injures hit by a BMW car. The girls suffered a brain shock, trauma of the spine and fractures. Over the past 24 hours, policemen gave fines to 392 drivers for breaking the Traffic Regulation. 28 of them were drunken. This week, the Road Police organizes a special operation „Drunken Drivers”.
