A woman killed her newborn twins right after she gave birth. The young woman aged 26, from the village Fundurii Vechi, Glodeni, triggered early birth at home and killed the babies hitting them in the head, and then buried them in the garden. According to the head of Operative Services Department within the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ghenadie Cosovan, the young woman was concealing her pregnancy from her parents. She gave birth to two healthy boys, even she was at the 5th month of pregnancy. The crime would have been undiscovered if she did not evinced a serious bleeding few days after. The doctors of the hospital of town Glodeni noted that the patient was suffering from serious drug intoxication and recently she gave birth to twins. The case was investigated by the police and cleared up the circumstances of the double crime. If she is found guilty, the young woman risks life imprisonment. 68 cases of killing, including 4 infanticides, were registered in Moldova in 2006.
