The Inspector of the Road Traffic Security service, administrative surveillance and public relations of the Chisinau Road Police, Ion Roscovanu, communicated for Info-Prim Neo that most of the traffic accidents registered in the 10 months of this year took place on Sundays. From the overall 908 accidents, 155 took place on Sundays, followed by 154 accidents on Thursdays, 145 on Frydays, 144 on Tuesday, 139 on Wednesdays and Saturdays and 112 accidents on Mondays. The most dangerous traffic hours proved to be between 16.00 and 18.00 with 148 de accidents, followed by 14.00-16.00 with 116 accidents, 12.00-14.00 – with 122, 10.00-12.00 – with 109, 18.00-20.00 – with 101 traffic accidents, and the last place - between 6.00 and 8.00 – with 59 traffic accidents. 129 accidents took place in October, 127 in September, 117 in August, June – 108, May – 102, July – 99, March - 84, January – 82, April – 81 and the least – in February with 56 accidents. Ion Roscovanu claims that most accidents took place in Rascani region, where 233 accidents took place with 26 persons deceased and 292 injured. On the second place there comes Buiucani with 209 accidents with 12 persons dead and 286 injured. There have been 208 traffic accidents in Botanica, with a death toll of 11 and 281 injured. 145 accidents were registered in Ciocana, in which 10 persons died and 176 were injured. In another classification, the first place by streets is held by Dacia Boulevard, where 43 accidents took place, with one person deceased and 60 injured, followed by Stefan cel Mare Boulevard with 35 accidents, one person dead and 44 injured, Muncesti highway with 26 accidents with 2 person dead and 35 injured, Decebal boulevard with 23 accidents, 3 dead and 27 injured, the Chisinau-Vadul lui Voda road with 19 accidents, 4 dead persons and 30 injured, Hancesti highway with 20 traffic accidents, 2 persons dead and 25 injured. On Creanga street 19 accidents took place, with one persons dead and 23 traumatized. On Albisoara Street 18 accidents were registered with one person dead and 22 injured. On Mircea cel Batran Boulevard 15 traffic accidents took place, with one person dead and 18 injured, on Pan Halippa Street one traffic accident with one deceased person took place. Ion Roscovanu also claims that most of the traffic accidents registered in the 10 months involve hitting pedestrians - 538 cases, followed by vehicle impact – 320 cases and obstacle impact – 64 cases. The main cause of the traffic accidents is speeding, which caused 190 accidents. Driving intoxicated caused 61 accidents, and drunk pedestrians caused 34 accidents. From the overall number of accidents, 145 involved minors, with one child dead and 152 traumatized.
