As many as 73 infections with the novel coronavirus in Moldova are among persons aged between 50 and 59. The ratio of women to men among the patients with COVID-19 is 168:130, IPN reports.
After the March 31 meeting of the National Focal Point, Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection Viorica Dumbrăveanu said that 233 persons got infected locally, while 65 persons returned infected from Italy, France, Russia, Ukraine, the Czech republic, Switzerland, Romania, the UK, Bulgaria, Germany, and Belarus.
Among localities, the municipality of Chisinau is the worst hit, with 125 cases of infection recorded here. Ștefan Vodă district has 30 cases, Soroca district – 28, Hâncești – 23. Eighteen infections with COVID-19 were reported in the Transnistrian region.
Among patients with COVID-19 are two pregnant women who were admitted to Maternity Hospital No. 2. They are in a medium grave state. Among those infected are a child younger than one, four children aged between one and five, five children aged five to nine and 16 patients aged between ten and 19.
Globally, the disease by March 31 affected 785,000 persons and claimed over 35,000 lives, 26,000 of which in Europe. In Moldova, the virus killed two persons.
