Most of the passengers travelled by bus or minibus in 2006. Their number constitutes 110 mln passengers, representing a 3.6% increase compared with the previous year, based on the National Statistics Bureau data.
Of the total number of passengers transported by bus and minibus, 69.5% used private transportation services.
In the same period, about 202 mln passengers have been transported with trolleybuses – by 1.2% less than in 2005.
About 396,600 passengers used airline services in 2006, a 9.6% increase compared with the previous year.
4,836,000 passengers have been transported with railway transport in January to December 2006, which is by 5.7% more than the corresponding figures in 2005.
102,700 passengers used river transportation as means of conveyance, by 23.8% less than in the previous year.
The average travel distance represented 90 km for train passengers, 20 km for bus and minibus transportation, 3 km for trolleybuses, 2 km for river transport and 1212.7 km for air transport.
