Most of offenses in Tiraspol are committed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays
Over 2,300 infractions were committed in Tiraspol in 2008. 86% of those were discovered. The law enforcement bodies found 36,500 minor offenses. These statistics were presented at a sitting on the work of town militsia during last year, Info-Prim Neo's correspondent in the Transnistrian area reports.
According to Iurie Ursul, the head of the internal affairs department from Tiraspol, most offenses were committed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, between 2 and 5 p.m., and then after 10 p.m.. Compared to 2007, in 2008 the number of offenses rose 13%.
The Transnistrian top militsia officer is dissatisfied with the work of a number of police departments, which, according to him, worked below their potential. Among them: the drugs fighting department and the crime fighting department.
Referring to the funds of the municipal police, Tiraspol mayor Viktor Kostyrko says the area gave it the equivalent in Transnistrian rubles of 7.5 million lei, while the local budget alloted other (139,000 lei).
