The epidemiological situation in Chisinau remains serious. The largest number of deaths associated with COVID-19 was reported in Chisinau last week. Three is a limited number of available beds, but the COVID-19 Center at Moldexpo helps to keep the situation under control. The information was presented by the deputy health of the Chisinau Health Division Boris Gîlcă in the online meeting of officials of municipal services, IPN reports.
According to the functionary, the possibility of vaccinating teachers together with the medical personnel was considered in Parliament and at the Ministry of Health. As a result of requests made by patients, the program of activity of the family doctor’s centers was extended to cover the weekend. Ten x-ray machines are now available in the municipality of Chisinau for examining patients suspected of being infected or who were confirmed with COVID-19.
Boris Gîlcă said that of the 1,324 infected patients who are now in the national hospitals, 60 are in a serious state, while 652 need special care.
The Health Division will today provide a hotline for COVID-19 assistance that will work from 8am to 5pm. The directors of the medical associations of each district delegated health workers to deal with the phone calls within this hotline.

The hotline of the General Social Assistance and Health Division was set up to improve communication during the pandemic crisis and to provide informational support to the population in Chisinau about medical assistance in suspect or confirmed cases of COVID-19.
