The price of commemorative and jubilee coins ranges from a few hundred lei to over 13,000 lei. The National Bank of Moldova (NBM) issues and sells commemorative and anniversary coins of ten series, IPN reports.
According to the Bank, the most expensive jubilee coin can be bought for 13,550 lei. That's how much the gold coin, dedicated to the anniversary of the national currency, costs. The silver version of it is priced at 1,407 lei.
The "Personalities" series includes jubilee coins dedicated to writers and other personalities from Moldova. The coins of this series cost between 398 and 1,128 lei.
Another set of coins was issued last year in honor of the Moldovans who medaled at the Paris Olympics. The series "Performances of Moldovan Sport" contains three colored coins, each priced at 963 lei.
The "Historical Events" series includes the coins "European Moldova", priced at 1,286 lei, and "1900 years since the inauguration of Trajan's Column", worth 780 lei. The "Science and Innovation" series consists of a single coin with the price of 973 lei.
The prices are valid until the end of this year. The jubilee and commemorative coins and banknotes and other numismatic items issued by the NBM can be sold through the agency of licensed banks of Moldova.
