The most active persons who have been involved in volunteering in 2015 will be awarded at the Festival of Volunteers. For the first time this year, there will be designated the Ambassador of Volunteering 2015, IPN reports.

This contest category is a public one and consists of two stages: nomination by the public and voting of the proposed candidates, if these agree to take part in the contest.

Trophies and diplomats will be awarded to the winners in the following categories: most active organization/public association that promotes volunteering in Moldova; most active volunteer coordinator; most active volunteer; most active journalist/blogger who promoted volunteering in 2015; best essay on the theme “Volunteering versus active aging: solutions and challenges”; volunteering promoted through multimedia, photo and video section; most active initiative group that promoted volunteering in 2015; best volunteering project/activity/event organized in 2015; corporate volunteering; “Ambassador of Volunteering” – public persons involved in volunteering, and the most active international volunteer.

The Festival of Volunteers aims to publicly recognize the work and merits of the national volunteers. The event is organized by the Association “Service for Peace” with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sport, the Coalition for the Promotion of the Law and Activities on Volunteering and the Chisinau General Division of Education, Youth and Sport.

The festival takes place at the Organ Hall in Chisinau on December 6.  Over 600 persons are expected to take part in it, including volunteers, volunteer coordinators, national NGO leaders, journalists and public persons.
