Russia transferred 522 million Russian rubles (156 million lei) to the Transnistrian administration for paying  bonuses to the pensions of the residents of Transnistria, IPN reports.

The Transnistrian information portal “Vesti PMR” said this sum was allocated for the first half of this year. The overdue bonuses to pensions for January and February will start to be paid in several days.

In the recent period, the Transnistrian administration had to take a number of unpopular decisions following the economic difficulties experienced by the region. Thus, 30% of the salaries of budget-funded workers and the pensions were retained. The local administration promised yet it will pay these arrears when the economy will recover.
