Moscow expects new government in Chisinau to promote Russian-Moldovan cooperation

Moscow expects the new government in Chisinau to take constructive measures to promote the Russian-Moldovan cooperation in different areas and is ready for such a step, it is said in a press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia that is quoted by IPN.

The Ministry noted it is satisfied with the peaceful resolution of the political crisis in Moldova, underlining that among the most important challenges faced by the new authorities are the urgent tasks that need to be dealt with in the area of democratization of domestic political processes and the socioeconomic development of the country.

Earlier, Moscow welcomed the formation of the ruling coalition in Moldova and of the Government of the Republic of Moldova, saying it is ready to cooperate with the democratically elected authorities of Moldova so as to restore the mutually advantageous Russian-Moldovan relations in different areas in accordance with the Friendship and Cooperation Treaty of 2001
