Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zaharova said that blocking gas supplies to the Transnistrian region is a mockery of the people of the Transnistrian region. The diplomat told Radio Sputnik that "the West is using neo-Nazi tools in all corners of the world," IPN reports with reference to Russian media.
"From discrimination on the basis of language to the disconnection of vital sources - it is a mockery in the direct sense of the word," Maria Zaharova was quoted by Russian media as saying.
Zaharova added that the West pretends with false slogans about "democracy" to solve political and geopolitical problems, using all instruments, practically including neo-Nazi ones.
In a reaction to the accusations of the Russian MFA spokeswoman, Doina Gherman, Deputy Speaker of the Moldovan Parliament, said that the Moldovan authorities' readiness to provide full support to the Transnistrian region in acquiring energy resources in a fair and transparent manner remains valid. The country's leadership went to the security zone today to assure the people that it stands by their side with immediate help and concrete plans for lasting solutions, Doina Gherman said in a post on social networks.
