More Transnistrian economic entities register with Moldovan authorities
The number of economic entities operating in the Transnistrian region that register with the Moldovan authorities is increasing. It raised by 35 in the first quarter of this year alone. A number of 418 Transnistrian companies that carry out import-export operations are now registered in Moldova, Info-Prim-Neo’s correspondent in Transnistria reports.
Exports from Transnistria over January-March 2008 totaled 290 million USD, an increase of 25% compared with the corresponding period last year. The exports consist mainly of metallurgical products as well as products from the light industry.
The exports of the metallurgical and cement plants, hydroelectric station and Tirotex company made up 85% of the total exports. 95% of the generated electric power was exported to Romania.
Many companies implement quality control systems ISO 9000:200, certified by the international centers Lloyd Register (the UK), TUF (Germany), Veritas Bureau (Switzerland).
On the international markets, the region is represented by the following sectors: iron-and-steel industry, car making, metal working, electrical engineering, chemical industry, wood and glass working, manufacture of building materials, food, processing and light industries.
