The conscription target for May-June was set by the Government at 3,010 recruits for the full-term military service and 45 recruits for the reduced-term military service. 1360 young persons will be recruited in the National Army for the full-term military service, 800 – in the Border Guards Service, in the Troops of Carabineers – 850. 25 persons will be recruited for the reduced-term military service in the National Army and 50 – in the Border Guards service. Local public administrations together with the military raion centres will set the conscription target for the town halls and mayoralties of communes and villages. The Ministry of Defence was given the mandate to redistribute the conscription target between the military raion centres. President Vladimir Voronin previously signed a Decree on mustering out the soldiers whose military service expired, as well as on the conscription of soldiers in May-June 2007. Under the Decree, the National Army, Troops of Carabineers and the Border Guards Service will be completed with men who reached the age of 18 or have this age during the conscription and do not have the right to postpone or cancel the full-term or reduced-term military service.
