More energy difficulties and challenges - after the holidays. Energocom announcement

Electricity needs for Saturday, January 4, are fully covered. According to the company "Energocom", on Saturdays there is, as a rule, 7-10% less electricity consumption than on a working day. More capacity reservation challenges are expected after the old-fashioned holidays, the company, cited by IPN, notes the company.

"Energocom notes that it has made capacity reservations at the border with Romania in order to supplement Moldova's electricity consumption needs, partly on the day-ahead market, partly at intra-DPRK auctions. In this way it will be possible to import electricity contracted and previously announced by the company, plus purchases from the stock exchange, especially during peak hours.

The commercial capacity at the border with Romania is limited for the Republic of Moldova to 315 MW band (24 hours out of 24) out of the 650-800 MW needed in winter. This is why additional auctions are being held to reserve unused capacity at Ukraine's other borders with the EU.

Thus, by January 4, the electricity consumption will be covered by district heating plants in Chisinau and Balti, local renewable energy facilities, the rest of the electricity will be purchased from imports and the stock exchange.

As of January 1, the right bank of the Dniester River no longer receives energy from the Cuciurgan power plant. In the meantime, the MGRES plant has switched to coal-fired operation and covers the Transnistrian region's electricity needs, and the available coal stocks last for 30-50 days.
