In February, the total electricity consumption on the right bank of the Dniester River amounted to 417 million kWh, up by 2.1% compared to January and by 5.4% compared to the same period last year, IPN reports.
Moldelectrica informs that more than half of the energy used, or 54%, was imported, while 30% was produced by Termoelectrica SA, the rest - by CET-Nord, NHE Costesti and from renewable sources.
The authorities urge the population to save electricity, especially during peak hours between 09:00-11:00 and 18:00-23:00. "Optimizing consumption helps to reduce network overload and lower bills," Moldelectrica says. Recommendations include using energy-efficient household appliances, avoiding the simultaneous use of devices with high consumption and unplugging them when not in use.
