More buses and minibuses to run on routes during Easter holidays

The number of vehicles transporting passengers will be increased on the occasion of the Easter holidays and Low Sunday.  Contacted by IPN, director general of IS “Garile si Statii Auto” (“Motor Terminals and Stations”) Oleg Platonov said that more buses and minibuses will run on routes from May 2.

“We have a fixed schedule, but it depends on the number of passengers. The previous years we raised the number of minibuses on all the routes and I think that this year we will also increase the units of transport running on suburban and interurban routes,” said Oleg Platonov. Traditionally, the most crowded routes are those to Cahul, Tiraspol, Bender, Balti, Briceni, Causeni, and Stefan Voda.

Contacted by IPN, director general of IS “Calea Ferata din Moldova” (“Moldova’s Railways”) Vitalie Struna said the number of trains on the national routes will be increased, while the international routes will be supplemented with railcars. During the Easter holidays, the most popular international routes are those to and from Moscow and St. Petersburg.

This year Easter is celebrated on May 5, while Low Sunday a week later.
