The governmental commission for European integration approved the plan of action concerning the celebration of Europe Day in 2016. Under the plan, the state institutions will stage a series of activities to promote the European values and the development projects implemented with European funds, IPN reports.
The Government said it will also take part in the events that will be organized by the EU Delegation to Moldova, such as the European Town that this year will be set up in the central park of Chisinau on May 14. Besides the already traditional European Town, different exhibitions, workshops, cultural events, debates and presentations of information about the EU to the general public will be mounted throughout May. A football tournament was set to take place at the end of May.
For the first time, there will be staged a street-art contest for the best work entitled “Europe Day”. The contest will be held on May 10-13 and is aimed at promoting mural art and the young artists who work in this field and at renovating the city in the style of the capitals of the EU member states. The best works will be selected on May 14 and the winners will be awarded. The contest was already launched and more details about it can be found on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration.
It was decided to create an integrated governmental communication network for strengthening the communication system of the Government, ensuring efficient communication at national and foreign levels and establishing inter-institutional cooperation in working out and implementing governmental communication strategies.
