The moratorium on the receipt of applications for obtaining Moldovan citizenship by investment will be extended for two months as of this December, IPN reports, quoting a Government decision.

The Ministry of the Interior, the Migration and Asylum Bureau, the National Anticorruption Center, the Security and Intelligence Service and the Service for the Prevention and Fighting of Money Laundering within 30 days are to compile assessment reports on the citizenship by investment program and its effects on public order and national security. The cases examination commission will generalize the conclusions and will present them to the Government.

The moratorium on obtaining Moldovan citizenship by investment was instituted for a four-month period on August 23 this year.
